Hello! My name is Dr. Jennifer Bachtold, owner of Dr. Jen Therapy, and I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist with a Ph.D. in psychology. I am also certified in PTSD and trauma, anger management, and a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor with over 17 years of professional experience in addiction and recovery. I have worked with an array of patients from adolescents to elderly to those in the foster care system, corrections and justice system, detox, residential and outpatient centers, private practice settings, and in-home care. I currently work with adults ages 18 and over. I work with first responders, law enforcement, LGBTQIA+, an array of mental health concerns, and and just every day stresses! My office conducts independent comprehensive DUI assessment and court-ordered evaluations that can assist you in your legal case. I also provide gender-affirming psychological clearances supplemental to therapy.
I have experience delivering evidenced-based therapies in individual and group therapy, including providing individual short-term and long-term psychotherapy, diagnosis, and treatment planning. Building a rapport is the most important aspect of the therapeutic connection between therapist and patient. I will meet you where you are at. I use a comprehensive approach that may incorporate various therapy modalities depending on the needs of the session. Each session may be different and tailored to YOU! In your first session, we will explore what brought you to therapy and then decide the most appropriate ways to help you make progress and adjust the therapy approach as needed and as goals are met! If you are unsure of therapy, we will explore it together and I will assist you on your therapeutic journey! I use a humanistic, solution-focused, and cognitive-behavioral model that puts the patient first and includes CBT, ACT, IPT, strength-based, trauma-focused, culturally-sensitive, relapse prevention, and motivational interviewing. I am here to help you cope with whatever you are experiencing no matter how big or small.
As a psychologist, my passion lies in helping individuals navigate life's challenges and facilitating their journey towards growth and healing. I believe in the power of therapy to foster self-awareness, resilience, and meaningful change. It is an honor to walk alongside my patients as they explore their emotions, thoughts, and experiences in a safe and supportive environment. I'm committed to creating a positive and supportive environment for all of my patients. I value feedback and am dedicated to continuously improving my practice to ensure that each individual feels heard, respected, and supported throughout their therapeutic journey.
